So I was trolling teh intarwebs (as the idiot 1337 people say) and saw this website about Protesting the movie Avatar (http://stopavatarmovie.blogspot.com/2009/12/december-18-2009-international-day-of.html). (Thanks to IKT from #overclockers@oz.org)

On Friday, December 18, 2009 thousands of people will be protesting the release of the James Cameron movie, Avatar. The purpose of the protest is as follows:
1) To make all people aware that heterosexual arrogance, assumptions or exclusions of alternative sexualities in movies is no longer acceptable. Diversity and tolerance are human rights.
2) To speak out for all gay, bi-sexual, genderless and transgender people who are not represented by any character in Avatar.
3) To educate people about Evolution and humanity's transition to transgenderism.
All protests will be peaceful and non-confrontational. Suggested methods of protest:
Stand outside of theaters with signs and pamphlets to express your views
Sit down in theater lobbies and do not move unless the police use force or violence upon you
Stand up during a viewing of Avatar and remain standing
Buy tickets to Avatar in bulk but do not attend showings. An empty theater sends a message
Bring your mate to the theater and show affection to each other.
Reminder: SILENCE = DEATH. We will be silent no more.
My initial reaction was (as in the subject line) You've GOT to be shitting me!! I mean seriously?! :hmmmm:
The number of movies which DON'T have any of this shit in it is .....MOST OF THEM. And speaking as someone who isn't gay, bisexual, genderless (I don't care what those kids in year 8 said, I am NOT dickless!) or trans-gender: I'm quite happy NOT seeing that in my movies en-mass. :nono:
Certainly we all enjoyed Chasing Amy, and who doesn't enjoy seeing two women going at it like sex crazed voles in heat, :Banane59: but I'd just as soon that movies like Broke Back Mountain were the exception rather than the rule...
Besides, if they were everywhere, actors couldn't get reviews like "...in their surprise gay role gave a brave and touching rendition...." and frankly who wants to take that away from them. :noidea:
And as for the morons who arranged this so-called protest rally - FUCKTARDS!! :stupid:
You want to purchase tickets in bulk and then....NOT go? :confused3:

Honestly, once you've paid for the ticket, they couldn't care if you sleep through the movie, as long as you're not making cheap russian cam copies to put up on the internet while you snore! :sleep:
