So, apparently in ZDNet today there's an article (http://www.zdnet.com.au/news/communications/soa/80-of-Aussies-support-filter-/0,130061791,339300949,00.htm)stating that 80% of Australians are in favour of the Australian Government's internet censorship plan which is due to be put into place before March...

Now, is it just me, or does the fact that this [alleged] survey was done by "Hungry Beast", a program on Australia's ABC TV, strike anyone as suspicious. Especially as it echo's [alleged] surveys put out by Mr Conroy's own department?

And the fact that ABC-TV is government owned....

Interesting comment about the internet filter seen on IRC:

(Dorz): The former government actually provided a very effective combuter-based filter, free of charge, to anyone who wanted it. One of the first actions of Conroy was to cancel that program using the excuse that there was insufficient demand.

(Dorz): But apparantly, even though there was insufficient demand for a computer-based filter that placed the control (and responsibility) in the hands of parents, there is now (according to Rudd/Conroy) a sudden demand for a global filter for everyone!

(Dorz): Talk about outright hypocrisy and lies!
